AI-driven Innovation Shines at Tuổi Trẻ Start-up Awards 2025

The Tuổi Trẻ Start-up Awards 2025, co-organised by Tuổi Trẻ newspaper, the HCM City chapter of the Việt Nam Youth Union, the Business Startup Support Centre (BSSC), and Phạm Phú Ngọc Trai, has officially launched in HCM City on July 22. The focus of this year's awards is artificial intelligence (AI) under the theme "Building the future with AI."

The programme aims to unleash innovation potential in science and technology by identifying and honoring start-ups that apply key digital technologies like AI to solve practical problems in research, management, production, and innovation across various fields. The winners of the awards will receive recognition as potential startups making strong contributions to the overall development of science and technology in Vietnam.

From the submissions, 30 start-ups will be shortlisted, with 10 selected by a professional jury. The top five will take part in the final round, Coffee Talk, in late October, followed by an awards gala in November. The top prize of VNĐ100 million (US$4,370) will be awarded with support from Phạm Phú Ngọc Trai.

Young entrepreneurs are adopting a more strategic, data-driven approach, building AI models to optimize production, manage supply chains in real time, and personalize services for thousands of users. The awards aim to offer a platform for these young entrepreneurs to see AI as a practical tool for building sustainable and impactful business models.

The 2025 competition places a special focus on AI solutions in key sectors that still lack robust digital infrastructure, including finance, manufacturing, the environment, education, healthcare, agriculture, and logistics. The awards are not only about identifying promising start-ups but also about building a vibrant, future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Nguyễn Thị Diệu Hằng, director of BSSC, stated that entrepreneurship in the digital age is a collective effort, requiring strong infrastructure, open data, and a culture of support. The launch event featured a high-profile panel discussion titled "Entrepreneurship in the Age of AI," which discussed the evolving role of AI in both start-ups and large-scale enterprises. Both Hằng and Trai emphasised the importance of these sectors in the digital age.

The winners will receive mentorship and awards sponsored by key partners, including ACB Bank, TTC AgriS, VinaCapital, and An Hòa Construction Inspection. The awards ceremony promises to be an exciting event, showcasing the best of Vietnam's start-up scene and the potential of AI in shaping the country's future. Young entrepreneurs are learning from failure, iterating quickly, and acting without waiting for outside validation.
