AI to aid in selecting the new Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)
The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has set a strategic task to transform Kazakhstan into a digital country within three years, by 2028. In line with this vision, the Ministry of Labor is working on the digitization of services in the social and labor sphere, including the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
The AI technology, currently in development, will be launched in pilot mode for considering new Targeted Social Assistance (TSA) applications in the near future. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population plans to implement this AI technology for TSA allocation.
During the first stage of the AI project, the AI decisions will be advisory for local executive bodies. The AI model, which has already undergone comprehensive validation, achieving an accuracy level of over 90%, will enable automatic determination of the right to receive TSA. Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Olzhas Anafin, has stated this.
In the second stage, the AI technology will incorporate computer vision technology, allowing for analysis of visual data (photos and videos) in TSA applications. This inclusion aims to increase the objectivity of assessing the family's welfare level and living conditions. New data from the second stage will be used to retrain the AI model and improve its decision accuracy.
The third stage of the project will propose a detailed plan for helping families in difficult life situations at the regional, district, and family levels based on a comprehensive analysis. Statistics on AI model decisions will be collected during the pilot launch to evaluate its effectiveness and make necessary improvements.
It was previously reported that a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development will be created in Kazakhstan, but the head of the planned ministry has not been explicitly mentioned in the available search results. Regardless, the AI technology's implementation is a significant step towards achieving the goal of transforming Kazakhstan into a digital country.
The AI technology is designed to improve the accuracy and stability of decisions in the allocation process for TSA, ultimately ensuring that more families in need receive the assistance they deserve. As the project progresses, it is expected that the benefits of this AI technology will be felt across Kazakhstan's society, helping to create a more equitable and efficient social welfare system.
