Anniversary Celebration Shines on the 30th Anniversary of the Berlin Wall's Demise at Brandenburg Gate

🇩🇪 Let's Talk About That Unforgettable Evening 🇩🇪

Three decades have passed since Germany was unified, and boy, did we celebrate it right! On November 9th, a massive bash illuminated by top-notch lighting gear kicked off at the iconic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

Lighting maestros Florian Erdmann and Sven Sören Beyer from Phase7 were behind this jaw-dropping production. With gear from MA Lighting, Martin, Ayrton, and Portman Lights, they cast an unforgettable glow over Berlin. The stars of the show included 104 x Martin VDO AtomicTM Dot CLD, 16 x Martin MAC AllureTM Profiles, 16 x Ayrton Perseo, and 24 x Portman P1 Mini LED.

"The Martin VDO AtomicTM Dot CLD and Martin MAC AllureTM were pure magic!" exclaimed Erdmann. "The Atomic Dots brought incredible 3D effects on the inside of the dome, enhancing the video projection and creating a one-of-a-kind look. MAC Allure seamlessly completed the picture, allowing us to experiment with new effects, particularly the video mapping on a spotlight."

Weathering the Elements

November in Berlin isn't always friendly, so Erdmann and the crew needed tech that could brave the elements. Ayrton Perseo delivered on that front. "During the production, we relied heavily on the shutter sliders, ensuring precise illumination of the actors without compromising the video projection," Erdmann declared.

On the "South Stage," the Berlin Staatskapelle rocked out, and speeches were made. Here, Erdmann and his team brought the Portman P1 Mini LED into the spotlight. "I've got a soft spot for Portman spotlights. They never fail to impress, offering a valuable warm white light and versatile design options with their colorful aura effect," Erdmann shared.
