Apple Expands TV Viewing Experience With AirPlay 2 and App on More Devices

Apple is expanding its TV viewing experience. Later this year, AirPlay 2 will enable direct playback from iPhone or iPad to compatible smart TVs. Additionally, the Apple TV app is set to arrive on a wide range of platforms, including Samsung smart TVs this spring and major streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ later this fall.

The new Apple TV app is slated to launch on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac this fall. In the future, it will also be accessible on Amazon Fire TV, LG, Roku, Sony, and VIZIO platforms. While Amazon's Fire TV devices will support the Apple TV app, initial availability on new systems like Amazon's Vega OS may be limited.

This expansion follows Apple's announcement of its original video subscription service, set to debut later this fall. The service will be accessible via the Apple TV app, providing users with a central hub for their entertainment needs.
