Apple & Xiaomi Set to Unveil Slim-Bezeled iPhone 16 & Xiaomi 16 Series in September
Apple and Xiaomi are set to unveil their latest smartphones, the iPhone 16 series and Xiaomi 16 series respectively, in late September. Rumours suggest both companies are aiming for slimmer bezels, with Xiaomi potentially matching Apple's 1.36 mm bezels in their movies.
Apple's iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to boast bezels as narrow as 1.36 mm, according to leaks. This could make Xiaomi's new movies, which are rumoured to have bezels of 1.1 mm (Pro) and 1.15 mm (Pro Max), even slimmer. Tech blogger Ice Universe hints at Xiaomi's ambitious movie design.
Both companies are likely to use a new LIPO battery packaging process for their narrower movie designs. Apple is reported by ITHome in China to be adopting this technology in their 16-series movies. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset is expected to power these devices.
The iPhone 16 series and Xiaomi 16 series are poised to push the boundaries of smartphone design with their slim bezels. While Apple's bezels are expected to be 1.36 mm, Xiaomi may match or even surpass this with their Pro and Pro Max versions in their movies. The standard version of Xiaomi's 16 series is rumoured to have bezels around 1.0 mm. Both companies are expected to launch these devices in late September, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset and featuring a new LIPO battery packaging process in their movies.
