Apple's New SoC-Powered Mac Coming This Year
Apple has announced that the first Mac system powered by its new System on Chip (SoC) will hit the market by the end of the year. Developers can now start building apps tailored for these new Mac SoCs.
The tech giant aims to complete the transition from Intel processors to its own Apple Silicon in Macs within two years. This shift will allow for improved performance and enhanced integration with other Apple devices.
Apple Inc., the company behind the Mac, has been developing a family of Mac SoCs for some time. The first of these, the Apple M1, was introduced last year, powering the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. Today's announcement signals the arrival of its successor, which promises to deliver even greater power and efficiency.
The first Mac system featuring Apple's new SoC is set to launch before 2022. Developers are encouraged to start preparing apps for these new Macs. The transition to Apple Silicon is expected to be fully completed within two years.
