Here's a brain teaser: Can you recall your phone number right off the top of your head? Well, according to a recent survey by Bitkom, one-third of Germans can't! It's quite intriguing, isn't it?

While a whopping 82% of Germans can rattle off at least one friend's, family member's, or associate's number, they trip up when it comes to their very own digits. Go figure! Interestingly, the older generation, aged 65 and above, seem to hold onto more numbers on average—a gutsy four. Conversely, the youth, 16 to 29-year-olds, struggle to remember more than a couple.

Now, you might be wondering about the details of this intriguing survey. It was none other than Bitkom—Germany's Digital Association—that conducted this captivating poll, interviewing a grand total of 1,004 Germans aged 16 and over via phone. The chats took place in the chilly months of February and March 2025.
