Audi introduces new QA6 Sportback e-tron electric vehicle models.
The Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron has made its debut at the Paris Motor Show 2024, showcasing a unique blend of sporty design, advanced technology, and a luxurious interior. This high-performance electric SUV delivers around 510–517 horsepower with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and offers a driving range close to 275–367 miles depending on the variant and market.
Performance
The SQ6 Sportback e-tron is powered by a front induction AC motor (188 hp, 203 lb-ft) and a rear permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor (375 hp, 428 lb-ft), combining for about 510 hp total. It boasts a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery with a 94 kWh usable capacity. Under ideal conditions, it takes around 21 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent with DC fast-charging at a rate of 270 kW.
Range
The estimated EPA range for the US model is 275 miles on the standard 20-inch wheels with a 94.4 kWh usable battery. The UK Sportback variant touts up to 367 miles thanks to its more aerodynamic shape (Cd 0.28) and potentially different configurations. Range may vary by wheel size and tires; larger 21-inch wheels and summer tires reduce range somewhat from EPA estimates.
Design
The SQ6 Sportback e-tron features a sleek Sportback silhouette inspired by the Audi TT, with a lower roofline by 37mm compared to the SUV version, a flat rear window, and signature aluminum-look trims. It also showcases continuous rear light strips and digital daytime running lights. Exterior options include 21-inch darkened aero-design wheels, black trim, and OLED taillights in the Prestige package.
Interior
The interior of the SQ6 Sportback e-tron is luxurious and spacious, with a 2,899mm wheelbase offering plenty of room for 5 passengers. It offers 511 liters of luggage space, expandable to 1,373 liters with rear seats folded, plus a 64-liter front trunk (frunk). Premium materials include Dinamica microfiber and recycled fabrics for sustainability. Sport seats with optional Nappa leather upholstery and ambient lighting are also available.
Multiple screens enhance the interior experience, including a 14.5-inch curved center display, an 11.9-inch driver display, and a 10.9-inch front passenger display. These displays enable passenger control over media/navigation without disturbing the driver. An 830-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system with 20 speakers, including speakers in front headrests, provides an immersive audio experience.
Technology & Features
Advanced driver-assistance systems are available, including adaptive cruise control, a head-up display with augmented reality overlays, and a 360-degree camera system. Optional packages like the Prestige and Black Edition One add features such as heated steering wheel and rear seats, OLED taillights, panoramic sunroof, and darkened headlights.
The new infotainment system in the Q6 e-tron lineup uses Android Automotive OS for the first time in Audi vehicles and comes with the latest Audi connect services. The Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro is expected to achieve an EPA estimated range of around 300 miles.
