BIG APPLE - The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) is setting the stage for a star-studded event, honoring industry trailblazers at the 2025 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts luncheon and awards ceremony. This annual extravaganza will unfold at Gotham Hall in New York City on Friday, November 14th, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Once again taking the reins as the event's emcee is 2018 Giant Honoree, Bill Whitaker, correspondent for "60 Minutes" and CBS News. Besides Whitaker, ABC News Radio national correspondent Steven Portnoy will be awarded the 2025 LABF Excellence in Broadcast Preservation Award, recognized for his steadfast dedication and unwavering passion for preserving broadcast history.
Heidi Raphael, Beasley Media Group chief communications officer, and Jack Goodman, a seasoned DC-based communications attorney, serve as the event's co-chairs. According to them, the event is a grand stage to celebrate the pioneers and innovators of the media industry, marking their indelible impact on broadcasting and American culture.
