Pega and AWS Team Up to Revolutionize Legacy System Transformation

Pegasystems Inc. and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have entered into a five-year strategic collaboration to modernize legacy systems using advanced generative AI services. This partnership integrates AWS's AI capabilities, such as Amazon Bedrock and AWS Transform, with Pegasystems' products like Pega Blueprint and the Pega Platform.

The collaboration aims to empower clients to use Pega products with AWS advanced generative AI services. Infosys Cobalt, Infosys' industry-leading cloud offering, will also benefit from this partnership, integrating the power of Pega Platform and Pega Blueprint.

Key details of the collaboration include:

  • Amazon Bedrock will serve as the primary generative AI foundation for Pega Blueprint and the Pega Platform, allowing clients to securely access leading large language models (LLMs) from providers like Anthropic, Amazon, Cohere, and Meta.
  • AWS Transform utilizes agentic AI workflows to automate the entire modernization lifecycle, helping enterprises overcome technical debt and accelerate migration from outdated on-premises legacy systems to cloud environments.
  • Pega Blueprint, a cloud-based AI-powered tool, accelerates the design and development of Pega-powered workflow applications, streamlining the modernization process with AI agent assistance.
  • The combined AI-driven approach enables faster, more efficient cloud migration and legacy transformation with minimal disruption to critical business operations, ultimately enhancing customer engagement, automating workflows, and optimizing service delivery.

A Pega and Savanta survey highlighted that 68% of IT decision-makers see legacy systems as a major barrier to adopting AI and automation, underscoring the relevance of this partnership for overcoming these challenges.

The partnership also allows partners to infuse their own IP and best practices into Pega Blueprint for customized legacy transformation, helping organizations drive strategic business process changes enabled by AI-driven productivity gains.

Pega's commitment to selling in AWS Marketplace as the preferred transaction mechanism for Pega-as-a-Service is affirmed by this collaboration. This facilitates faster access to innovations and financial benefits within the AWS ecosystem.

Chris Grusz, the managing director of technology partners at AWS, commented that the strategic collaboration with Pega combines AWS AI-powered modernization capabilities with Pega's expertise in enterprise workflow transformation, providing customers with powerful tools to escape technical debt without disrupting critical business operations.

John Higgins, the chief of client and partner success at Pega, stated that the deepened collaboration with AWS empowers organizations to use generative AI for accelerating legacy application transformation initiatives.

Manas Kumar Sarkar, the vice president of the enterprise application integration service at Infosys, expressed that the collaboration between Pega and AWS streamlines the path to integrate Pega Platform and Pega Blueprint into Infosys Cobalt, Infosys' industry-leading cloud offering built on AWS.

In essence, this collaboration leverages AWS’s leading generative AI technologies and Pegasystems’ modernization platforms to enable enterprises to reimagine and accelerate legacy system transformation through agentic AI automation while minimizing operational disruption.

The collaboration also enables Pega to offer comprehensive migration services and tools for on-premises clients transitioning to Pega-as-a-Service. By doing so, it accelerates clients' journey to the cloud without disrupting critical business functions.

Generative AI is revolutionizing what customers can build in the cloud, and services like AWS Transform are fundamentally changing how quickly and seamlessly they can get to the cloud in the first place, according to Chris Grusz, the managing director of technology partners at AWS. Infosys sees value in this collaboration for both itself and the industry, as stated by Manas Kumar Sarkar, the vice president of the enterprise application integration service at Infosys.

The strategic alliance between Pega and AWS seeks to integrate data-and-cloud-computing technology with finance and business operations, enabling enterprises to leverage advanced generative AI services for efficient and disruption-minimized legacy system transformation. This collaboration stands to revolutionize the way businesses utilize AI-powered legacy application modernization, accelerating their journey to the cloud and strengthening their competitive positions.

The combined offerings from Pega and AWS, such as Amazon Bedrock and Pega Blueprint, will empower partners to create customized solutions using their own intellectual property and best practices, ultimately driving innovative business process changes in the industry fueled by AI-driven productivity gains.
