Balenciaga Climbs to 12th in Lyst Index Q4 2023, Prada Tops Again
Balenciaga has climbed to the 12th spot in the Lyst Index Q4 2023 rankings, two places higher than last year, following controversial ad campaigns. Meanwhile, Prada has secured the top position for the third time since 2018, with a significant increase in searches driven by exhibitions, collaborations, and campaigns.
The Lyst Index, which ranks fashion brands based on shopper behavior, social media mentions, searches, product views, sales, and engagement, has revealed the top trends and brands for 2024. Seven key trends include vibrant colors, oversized suits, retro-inspired pieces, sustainable materials, bold accessories, mixed textures, and gender-neutral styles.
Breakout brands include Victoria Beckham, Ralph Lauren, and On, which collaborated with Loewe. Ugg returned to the top-20 rankings, with its Tasman slippers being the sixth most popular product. The Row, co-founded by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, ranked 18th with a 93% demand increase for the quarter. Miu Miu ranked second, shaping the trend cycle with a 'confident, creative aesthetic'. The Row's Margaux bag was Lyst's hottest product, with searches up 63% for the quarter and 198% year-on-year. Prada's searches increased by 41% year-on-year.
