BC Rich Unveils the Andy James Assassin: A Metallica Tour-Tested Signature Guitar
BC Rich has announced a new signature model, the Andy James Assassin, designed to meet the demands of metal and rock genres. The guitar was tested during the M72 Tour with Metallica by its namesake, Andy James.
The Andy James Assassin is based on the successful BC Rich Assassin model, featuring a Pitchfork headstock and a low-profile C-shaped satin neck. The 7-string model, in particular, comes equipped with an Evertune bridge for stable tuning, available in a Trans Green Burst finish.
The guitar boasts a modern Assassin body shape, with mahogany bodies and figured maple on the trans finish. The necks are made of maple, reinforced with two strips of wenge, and standard features include 24 extra-jumbo frets and a 25.5” scale length.
The Andy James Assassin stands out with its distinctive features, such as Luminlay side-dot markers, Andy James glow-in-the-dark square fret marker inlays, and Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers. The neck cut is designed for upper-fret access, referred to as the Shredzilla neck cut. The guitar also sports a 'Pitchfork' headstock and is equipped with locking high-ration 18:1 Grover tuners.
The Andy James Assassin comes in three configurations: six-string, seven-string, and eight-string, and is available in Satin Black, Satin White, or Translucent Green. The price ranges from £2,099/$2,199 street.
