In a groundbreaking collaboration, Blink Charging and Universal Media have unveiled the EV Totem, a fusion of EV charging solutions and elevated digital media displays, at Mountain View Village in Salt Lake City.

The EV Totem, standing seven feet tall with dual 55-inch high-definition screens, offers a smarter, connected platform for EV charging. It combines Level 2 AC charging points with these digital displays on both sides, providing an enhanced EV charging experience and delivering relevant media content and advertising to drivers while they charge.

This future-focused innovation, as described by Todd Cohen, Co-founder and CEO of Universal Media, aims to benefit multiple parties, including drivers, brands, property partners, and communities. It is designed to unlock new opportunities for brands and offer tools for stronger community interaction via targeted messaging.

The EV Totem's digital displays also feature real-time, location-based advertising content and integrated analytics, creating new revenue opportunities for station operators and businesses. The first EV Totem units were installed at Mountain View Village, a high-traffic retail and lifestyle location.

Mike Battaglia, President and CEO of Blink Charging, emphasized that the collaboration with Universal Media aims to transform the EV charging experience into a dynamic media and mobility platform. The pilot installation in Salt Lake City is just the beginning, with plans to deploy more EV Totems in additional high-traffic locations.

The partners intend to develop and expand the concept to transform EV charging stations into connected media platforms with increasing reach and impact. This patented innovation aims to redefine the EV charging environment by merging mobility and media.

Executives from both companies are optimistic about the future of the EV Totem. Todd Cohen noted that the EV Totem is a connected, value-delivering platform for various stakeholders, while Mike Battaglia called it a "future-focused innovation" transforming the charging experience.

In summary, the EV Totem combines reliable EV charging with dual-sided dynamic digital media for enhanced driver engagement, new advertising revenue streams, and scalable deployment at busy venues. This innovative concept is set to revolutionize the EV charging landscape.
