BMW Unveils Production i4: A Sporty, Long-Range EV

BMW has unveiled the production version of the i4, an all-electric variant of the 4 Series Gran Coupe. The i4 retains the sporty design of the i4 Concept revealed last year and is set to hit the market later this year.

The i4 will be offered in various versions, likely differing in battery capacity and power output. Notably, a BMW Performance model will be among the options. Under the hood of the top-end version, buyers can expect a powerful 530bhp engine, accelerating from 0-62mph in just 4.0 seconds. This model also promises an impressive range of 360 miles on a single charge.

BMW's Pieter Nota, a senior executive responsible for the overall leadership of Customer, Brands and Sales Division, presented the i4 as 'a true BMW'. He praised its sporty looks and best-in-class driving dynamics, all while producing zero local emissions. The i4 will also feature the new iDrive infotainment system, previously seen in the upcoming iX electric SUV.

The BMW i4, with its sporty design, impressive performance, and long range, is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. It will be available later this year, offering customers a true BMW experience with a zero-emission twist.
