The BAIC Arcfox T1, priced around RMB 70,000 (approximately $10,000), is set to make its debut in the compact electric vehicle (EV) market in late August 2025. This stylish new hatchback, unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2025 in April, promises to offer features uncommon in this price segment, such as 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and a sporty, two-tone look.

Measuring 4,337mm in length, 1,860mm in width, and 1,572mm in height, with a 2,770mm wheelbase, the T1 is larger than a VW Golf and competes directly with popular models like the Geely Xingyuan and BYD Seagull.

The T1's battery is a lithium iron phosphate battery from Zhongzhou Times, and the vehicle follows the Arc-Flow design philosophy. Its front features "dynamic ice-crystal" headlights inspired by glacial formations and diamond facets. The dashboard houses an 8.8-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a floating 15.6-inch central touchscreen. The side profile includes 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels for its class, while the rear incorporates a black through-type decorative panel with rectangular taillights.

The T1's interior boasts a dual-tone color scheme, high-quality leather upholstery, and diamond-pattern stitching. The front seats can be fully reclined, and with headrests removed, can connect with the rear seats to create a flat resting surface. The standard cargo area is 459 liters, expandable to 1,352 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Powered by a single electric motor system from CRRC Times Electric with a maximum output of 95kW (127 hp), the T1 is expected to have an electric range of over 400 kilometers. The cabin is equipped with a nano-level soft anti-pollution coating that meets maternal and infant safety standards.

In the competitive Chinese market for compact new energy vehicles, BAIC aims to differentiate the T1 with its design and price. The T1 will face established competitors like the Geely Xingyuan and BYD Seagull, which have sold over 40,000 and 30,000 units respectively in June 2025 alone. Geely incorporates its G-Pilot H7 advanced driver-assistance system in its lineup, enhancing safety and driving experience, serving as a competitive benchmark for the T1.

By 2025, the top two best-selling new energy vehicles in China are predicted to be Geely's Xingyuan and BYD's Seagull. The T1, with its affordable price and stylish design, aims to attract budget-conscious buyers looking for an affordable new energy vehicle in China.
