BYD's Denza B5 Off-Road SUV Coming to Australia in November 2025
Chinese automaker BYD's off-road sub-brand, Denza, is set to launch in Australia from November 2025. The Denza B5, a five-seater premium off-road vehicle, will be the first model to arrive Down Under, followed by the Denza B8.
The Denza B5 is an impressive vehicle, capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. It boasts a projected 100 km EV range and a powerful 505 kW engine. This model is designed to target buyers of popular SUVs like the Ford Everest and Toyota Prado, with an expected price range of AUD$60-80,000.
The Denza B5's arrival coincides with a rise in sales of Chinese-made cars in Australia, which have been squeezing the sales of established brands. This new off-road sub-brand from BYD could further shake up the market. The Denza B5 is expected to hit Australian shores before its larger sibling, the Denza B8, but details about the B8's distribution and availability are yet to be confirmed.
The Denza B5's arrival in Australia in late 2025 is set to bring a new premium off-road option to buyers, with impressive performance and a competitive price point. As the first Denza model in Australia, it will be interesting to see how it fares in the local market.
