Chery's 'QQ Ice Cream' Set to Challenge Mini EV's Dominance in 2022
Chery is set to shake up the small electric car market with its new 'QQ Ice Cream' model. The QQ Ice Cream is expected to challenge the dominance of the Mini EV, which sold 29,706 units in May. Chery's iCar ecosystem, developed in partnership with Huawei, aims to integrate cars with consumers' intelligent life scenarios.
The QQ Ice Cream, due in 2022, will carry on the charming design of the QQ model, featuring semi-circular headlights reminiscent of cat eyes. This is Chery's first product for the iCar ecosystem and will enter a market currently led by the Mini EV, which has gained popularity in China due to its affordable price point.
Chery has a history of catering to young consumers. The original QQ, released a decade ago, was China's first model targeted at this demographic with a price below RMB 50,000. Now, Chery plans to release the production version of its electric SUV concept in September, further expanding its electric vehicle offerings.
Chery's QQ Ice Cream, set to launch in 2022, is poised to make an impact in the small electric car market currently dominated by the Mini EV. With its cute design and integration into Chery's iCar ecosystem, the QQ Ice Cream is expected to appeal to young consumers.
