Claresholm Launches RCIP to Fill Local Jobs, Boost Rural Economy
Claresholm, a town in southern Alberta, has launched its Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) with a focus on five priority sectors. The pilot, which began in 2025, aims to help local employers meet labour market needs by attracting foreign nationals with job offers and community endorsements for permanent residence.
Claresholm's RCIP includes the hamlets of Granum and Stavely within its boundary. The pilot requires foreign nationals to have a job offer from a designated employer in one of the town's priority sectors. These sectors are not specified in the search results, but interested candidates are advised to contact local Canadian immigration or economic development offices for detailed information.
Beyond job offers, candidates must also meet criteria regarding work experience, language proficiency, educational qualifications, and settlement funds to be eligible for the RCIP. Claresholm has capped allocations for the Sales and Service industry at five for the year, with a total of 30 slots available in 2025. These slots are distributed at a rate of three per month, with any remaining slots allocated at the end of the year.
Claresholm's RCIP is a five-year pilot program designed to support rural communities by addressing labour market needs. Foreign nationals interested in participating should secure a job offer from a designated employer in one of the town's priority sectors and meet the required eligibility criteria. For more information, candidates are encouraged to reach out to local immigration or economic development offices.
