Coda Audio showcases stellar performance at Thailand's Songkran Music Festival
In the bustling city of Chiang Mai, Thailand, the traditional Thai New Year festival of Songkran featured a grand spectacle, complete with extensive water-throwing activities and a large-scale entertainment stage. For three days, from April 13-15, a 10,000-strong crowd reveled in DJ sets, live performances, and dance numbers, all serviced by a cutting-edge audio system.
Bangkok-based Coconut Sound supplied CODA Audio's AiRAY and ViRAY loudspeakers for the event, set up on a stage outside the MAYA shopping center. The main PA consisted of 8 AiRAY and 4 ViRAY speakers per side, with side hangs featuring 6 AiRAY and 4 ViRAY each. The low-end reinforcement was powered by 16 SCP sensor-controlled subwoofers, supplemented by HOPS8 units as front fills.
Wichak Chanmuang, system designer at Coconut Sound, explained the significance of such a powerful system, stating, "Countering the citywide cacophony of other events, the system needed extraordinary power and coverage to ensure the crowd's enjoyment of the artists was unimpeded." The system proved up to the challenge, according to front-of-house engineers and the client, delivering exceptional sound quality.
Paul Ward, from CODA Audio, acknowledged the role of Modern Solutions Plus and Coconut Sound in demonstrating the versatility and adaptability of CODA systems. He praised them for their ability to tackle a wide array of applications, both indoor and outdoor, on every scale. CODA Audio's AiRAY speakers are renowned for their 3-way line source configuration, featuring two 12" low-frequency drivers, two 6" midrange drivers, and a 1.75" high-frequency driver. These components combine to create a sound that is powerfully balanced and suitable for large-scale events where exceptional sound distribution is paramount.
While specific details about the ViRAY loudspeakers were absent in the search results, CODA Audio's products generally offer high output power and superior sound quality, making them appropriate for a variety of applications, including live events and festivals. CODA Audio's systems, including AiRAY and potentially ViRAY, are engineered to handle large-scale events, granting high output levels and excellent sound quality for effective sound coverage in expansive areas. Their performance at the Songkran Festival, with its lively atmosphere and extensive crowds, would have undoubtedly improved the overall audio experience, maintaining the high acoustic standards required for such events.
The Songkran Festival in Chiang Mai benefited from the use of technology, as CODA Audio's AiRAY and potentially ViRAY loudspeakers, supplied by Bangkok-based Coconut Sound, enhanced the audio quality at the entertainment stage. With their powerful and balanced sound, these speakers provided exceptional distribution for large-scale events like the crowded Songkran Festival, ensuring uninterrupted enjoyment of artists' performances despite the city's cacophony of events.
