In the realm of cybersecurity, the annual event KazHackStan stands as a beacon of knowledge and awareness. This year, from September 17 to 19, the Sadu Arena complex in Kazakhstan will once again play host to the conference, marking its status as the largest cybersecurity event in the region.

The focus of KazHackStan 2021 is Zero Day, a theme that underscores the importance of being prepared for the unknown threats that may arise in the digital landscape. The event is the information partner of CMN.KZ, further emphasising its significance.

Last year, the conference saw some intriguing incidents. One such instance was a student from Kostanay who hacked an LED screen of an organisation, uploading memes. The company that installed the LED screen, OOO "Videokom", was affected by this playful yet revealing demonstration of the vulnerabilities that exist in our digital world.

To combat such incidents, the conference places a strong emphasis on secure development practices through Secure Development Day. This day is dedicated to educating attendees about the importance of secure coding and the role it plays in maintaining digital protection.

In addition to Secure Development Day, KazHackStan features HackDay, a day filled with live demonstrations of vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and countermeasures. This interactive day serves as a practical learning experience for all participants.

The head of the R'n'D department of TSARKA, Igor Sinyushin, has highlighted a common reason for such incidents - the use of standard login and password combinations for Wi-Fi or the LED panel itself, where a hotspot is provided. He advises businesses to be aware of the possibility of hacking and to prepare accordingly, such as by reinstalling standard settings to new ones.

TSARKA is a key aspect of digital protection at KazHackStan. The conference also includes the event "Government & Business Day", which delves into the politics and regulation surrounding cybersecurity.

For those interested in staying updated on KazHackStan, a Telegram channel is available for subscription. An article titled "Cyberphone, legislative amendments, and hacking the Burj Khalifa: How the cyber forum in Almaty went" provides a glimpse into the insights and discussions that took place at last year's event.

KazHackStan aims to educate people about ethical hacking and the consequences of such hacks, particularly for children. The conference serves as a reminder that in the digital age, awareness, preparedness, and secure practices are crucial in maintaining a safe and secure environment.
