Compact Digital Encoding Device for Portable Keys: A High-Tech Camera Obscura Innovation
The Kodak Charmera digital camera keychain, a charming blend of nostalgia and modern technology, is making waves in the market. Manufactured by Reto Production Limited, a Hong Kong-based license partner of Kodak, this retro camera is designed to deliver a unique photography experience.
The Charmera sports a compact 0.8-inch display that shows the subject, battery status, and available storage space. The built-in battery charges via USB-C with a 200-mAh capacity, ensuring you're always ready to capture those special moments.
The Charmera comes with a lens having a 35-millimeter equivalent focal length, ideal for everyday photography. All Charmera devices share an identical housing shape, adding to their uniform appeal.
One of the standout features of the Charmera is its ability to record video. However, unlike its counterpart, the Fling model, it does not offer an optical viewfinder.
The Charmera's sensor boasts a resolution of 1440 x 1080 pixels and a fixed aperture of f/2.4. Images are stored on microSD cards with up to 128 GB capacity. It's worth noting that the Charmera stores images only in JPEG format and has a 1.6-megapixel sensor, which is less powerful than current digital cameras.
Collectors can opt for a complete set of six different designs, but the seventh design remains unavailable. Each Charmera comes with a different print, including one that resembles the 1987 Kodak Fling. The Charmera is sold in a blind box to maintain the surprise of the design pattern inside.
The Kodak Charmera camera is priced at 36 euros for a single unit. Reto charges 36 euros for a single Charmera and 216 euros for a 6-pack on Amazon, which is more expensive than the official prices. However, due to high demand, the Charmera quickly sold out, and prices have since increased on resale markets beyond the official price.
Interested parties can find the Charmera listed on other platforms like Amazon & Co., but it is currently not in stock. Reto plans to announce upcoming sales waves on Instagram, so keep an eye out for more opportunities to get your hands on this retro charm.
