Cracking the Green Energy Puzzle in Event Production

The event industry is gearing up for a shift, with eco-friendly events and sustainability taking center stage. This movement presents new opportunities for organizers and producers, sparking innovation and the birth of novel products. One such intriguing development is the Instagrid Zero 360, a mobile high-performance battery making waves at Prolight + Sound.

Bid Farewell to Noisy, Polluting Diesel GeneratorsLarge-scale outdoor events, such as concerts and festivals, require a hefty dose of energy to power lighting, sound, and video productions. Diesel generators have long been the go-to solution for event organizers. However, German technology company Instagrid is on a mission to replace these with greener, quieter alternatives.

The Instagrid Zero 360, the company's latest prototype, is a compact, emission-free, and silent power source. With an impressive capacity of up to 360 kWh and an output of 180 kW, this mobile battery aims to revolutionize event energy supply. Its peak output reaches 540 kWp.

The goal of this high-performance battery series is to optimize energy infrastructure for temporary applications. By providing power for live events, festivals, film and media, it seeks to minimize the use of diesel-driven generators. Interestingly, the battery can even operate independently as a power source.

Fast-paced, Sustainable Charging SolutionsOf course, the batteries need to be charged to deliver power. Instagrid Zero offers fast and flexible charging solutions, particularly beneficial for time-constrained projects. By connecting DC charging stations with 50 to 150 kW, it enables sustainable and swift charging at any location.

The Instagrid Zero battery can be charged with any energy source generating electricity. To make an event sustainable, simply plug in a renewable energy source, charge, and use power.

The Instagrid Zero 360 is slated for market release in late 2024, with the pilot phase set to begin this year with select customers and partners. Smaller models are already available for trial and purchase.

Andy Mead, from Instagrid, expressed confidence in the technology's future. "The events industry is constantly evolving and embracing emerging technologies. This trend is set to continue, with power being the next big step. We're certain that the event industry will adopt and innovate clean energy."

The Instagrid Zero 360's innovative technology, a potential game-changer in the event industry, is rooted in both environmental-science and technology, aiming to minimize environmental impact and foster a greener future. With its focus on the financial aspect, Instagrid intends to enable the adoption of this clean energy solution by partnering with industry stakeholders.
