Coveris Unveils Halle Pack Innovation Centre for Pet Food Packaging
Coveris has opened a new Pack Innovation Centre in Halle, Germany, dedicated to pet food packaging. The Centre, which opened in early July, offers trials on vertical form fill seal machines to help producers avoid production stoppages.
The Centre's production area boasts packaging machinery like thermoformers, tray-sealers, and form-fill-seal machines, providing diverse trial options. Coveris has developed a specific questionnaire to guide customers through trials, focusing on critical points and film performance.
The Centre aims to develop sustainable packaging options using Coveris' films like MonoFlexE and MonoFlexP, along with paper-based combinations. Its workshop area is designed as an open space, facilitating knowledge sharing and hosting internal and external events and training sessions. While no specific companies have been mentioned since the opening, the Centre is available for pet food producers to test their products on vertical filling and sealing machines.
Coveris' Pack Innovation Centre in Halle, Germany, is the second initiative centre, partnering with the Pack Positive Centre in Leeds, UK. It offers insights on packaging trends from Coveris' internal experts and renowned industry specialists. The Centre is equipped to run trials on pet food packaging for dry kibble, treats, and similar products using various bag and pouch styles.
