Debut of the High-Performance Grand Tourer, Polestar 5, Unveiled in Munich
In the world of automotive innovation, Polestar has made a significant stride with the unveiling of its latest project, the Polestar 5. The all-electric four-door performance GT was showcased at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, aiming to redefine the luxury electric sedan market, competing with the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S.
The Polestar 5 boasts an impressive power output of up to 650 kW (884 PS) and advanced 800-V fast charging technology, ensuring swift and efficient performance. But it's not just about speed. Sustainability is a fundamental aspect of its design, making it a compelling choice for eco-conscious drivers.
Inspired by aviation, the Polestar 5 sports a sleek, sculpted body with a wing-like aerodynamic profile. This design, coupled with an in-house developed aluminium platform, emphasises weight, efficiency, and performance. The interior, too, reflects the brand's minimalist approach, featuring clean surfaces and innovative materials.
The Polestar 5 was met with enthusiasm from visitors to the IAA Mobility, with many praising it as a vision of what grand touring should be like in the electric age. Belgian racing driver Shana Claessens expressed her excitement after getting behind the wheel of a Polestar 4 at Circuit Zolder.
For Sergio Marques, the Polestar 5 takes him to diverse landscapes, from the frozen lakes of Northern Sweden to the sun-drenched vineyards of Portugal. Even for one weekend in late February, his home was Jokkmokk, a reindeer and Northern Lights territory.
Performance and sustainability are not mutually exclusive in the Polestar 5. The race and a fashion parade, as the Mille Miglia 2025 described it, encapsulates the essence of this electric performance GT. The Polestar 5 is not just a car; it's a statement, a testament to the future of sports cars.
Polestar further solidified its commitment to innovation with the opening of an Experience Lab in Munich. This immersive space blends installation, minimalist design, and interactive experiences, providing a glimpse into the brand's vision for the future.
With the Polestar 5, the Swedish electric performance brand continues to push boundaries, offering a compelling blend of style, performance, and sustainability. The future of grand touring has never looked so promising.
