Diablo 4's Upcoming Expansion and the Anticipated Paladin Class

In the gaming world, Diablo 4 fans are eagerly awaiting the next major expansion, scheduled for 2026. While the exact release date is yet to be announced, strong indications point towards the inclusion of a highly anticipated character class - the Paladin.

First launched in June 2023, Diablo 4 has grown and evolved since then, with its player base expanding rapidly. The game is currently available on various platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC (via Steam and Battle.net), PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. For those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, Diablo 4 is included in the service.

The Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4, launched in 2024, continued the main story and introduced a new jungle-themed region and a new character class, the Spiritborn. The community has since been hoping for the inclusion of the Paladin class, known for its melee combat, defensive auras, and holy magic, in the upcoming expansion.

Recent developments suggest that the Paladin class may first appear in a major seasonal update, version 2.5.x, before or alongside the 2026 expansion. This speculation is backed by a recent internal Blizzard build named "2.5.Xpaladin.67961". However, it's important to note that Blizzard has not yet officially confirmed the Paladin's arrival.

The expansion itself is expected to be priced around $40, with the Paladin and Spiritborn classes potentially sold separately for $25 or bundled in a higher-priced package. As for the Paladin class, it's unlikely to arrive before Season 10 launches in late September 2025.

In addition to the Paladin class, the upcoming expansion is also expected to bring new content and features like a ranking system and leaderboards. This year will also see another IP crossover coming to Diablo 4, adding an extra layer of excitement for players.

Fergusson, known for helping troubled projects like BioShock Infinite, has been involved in Diablo 4's development, raising hopes that the upcoming expansion will be a success. With the Paladin class on the horizon and the expansion just around the corner, Diablo 4 fans have much to look forward to.
