"Discourse on digital advancement took place between Rostelecom and Tomsk Municipality"

In a recent meeting between Denis Kobzar, the director of the regional branch of Rostelecom, and Tomsk's mayor, Dmitry Makhina, a plan was discussed to digitize Tomsk's urban space. This plan includes the development and implementation of an intelligent video surveillance system and a city-wide network of Wi-Fi access points.

The intelligent video surveillance system, developed by Rostelecom, will protect cultural heritage sites and contribute to the creation of smart and efficient systems for cities. It will be able to identify events requiring attention and analyze object characteristics, ensuring increased safety in public places. Furthermore, it will allow for quick response to violations and help prevent them.

The development of this system is part of Rostelecom's broader efforts to enhance the technological potential of cities. Rostelecom has unique experience in implementing digital solutions in urban infrastructure, and the development of this system will directly affect the quality and safety of life for city residents.

In addition to the intelligent video surveillance system, Rostelecom will also implement a network of Wi-Fi in public places. This service will ensure stable and secure internet access, even with a large number of simultaneous connections. The locations for the Wi-Fi access points will be determined later and will be in public places like Novosobornaya Square or Lagerny Garden.

Dmitry Makhina expressed confidence that this initiative will make Tomsk more comfortable, and creating a city-wide network of Wi-Fi access points is particularly relevant due to mobile internet slowdowns in Russia's regions. Denis Kobzar presented modern solutions for urban infrastructure, including this project, during the meeting.

The responsibility for the development and implementation of the intelligent video surveillance system in Tomsk lies with the local government authorities in collaboration with technology partners. The service will comply with Russian legislation, requiring authorization through the "Gosuslugi" portal.

The implementation of these projects will not only improve the quality of housing and utilities services but also make Tomsk a more technological, convenient, and safe city. Denis Kobzar and Dmitry Makhina agreed that this is an important step towards the digitization of Tomsk's urban space.
