Enhanced Samsung Galaxy user experience with the standout One UI 8 features

The tech giant Samsung has launched its next-gen One UI 8 software, based on Android 16, and it's now available on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This new software is designed to leverage the foldable phone's large display and AI capabilities, delivering a more intuitive multi-tasking experience, polished camera functionality, and streamlined file sharing.

In the camera app, users can easily toggle the flash, enable timer, change aspect ratio, adjust resolution, and adjust exposure settings, among other features. Samsung has customized the flick gesture to open the core camera controls and adjustment tools, enhancing one-handed usability. The camera controls and adjustment tools are now located as a sliding carousel right above the shutter button.

One UI 8 also introduces a new Capture View mode in the camera app. This mode centers the most recent photo for easier focus, enlarges the selected image, and introduces a favorites shortcut. Users can quickly access these core camera controls with a simple flick gesture, making it easier to capture and review photos.

For file sharing, One UI 8 overhauls Samsung's Quick Share interface. The redesigned UI features clearer send and receive options, easy file selection, and quick access to frequent devices. Devices that users frequently share data with appear in a dedicated carousel in Quick Share, making file sharing faster and more user-friendly.

Multi-tasking benefits from One UI 8's AI-powered platform tailored for the foldable's large screen. This AI-powered platform enables multi-tasking that is context-aware and naturally responsive, including the Gemini Live AI assistant that understands multiple modes of input on the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s flexible display.

The 90:10 split-screen format, ideal for using two apps simultaneously on the cover screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is also introduced. In this format, the secondary app window can be shrunk to 10% of the screen. The secondary app window can be brought into focus by tapping on the bottom or top bar, instantly taking the center stage on the phone's screen.

Overall, One UI 8 on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 leverages the foldable’s large display and AI to deliver more intuitive multi-tasking, polished camera functionality, and streamlined file sharing. It's a significant step forward in enhancing the user experience on foldable devices.
