Deutsche Telekom Boosts Mobile Network Coverage in Regensburg
Deutsche Telekom has announced the expansion of its mobile network in Regensburg, aiming to improve coverage and increase bandwidth to meet the growing demand for mobile data.
The expansion includes the upgrading of two existing mobile network sites with LTE technology, and the construction of new sites, bringing the total number of mobile network sites in the Regensburg district to 101. This move is part of Deutsche Telekom's ongoing nationwide network growth and technology upgrades.
The company's efforts are focused on upgrading and extending 5G networks, deploying private 5G for industrial customers, and enabling secure communications solutions. Deutsche Telekom is also involved in integrating secure enterprise communication platforms, such as a partnership related to secure mobile messaging (NetSfere), which complements its connectivity offerings.
Markus Jodl, spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom, stated that the company is keeping up the pace with mobile network expansion to meet the increasing bandwidth demand. This expansion has led to an improvement in indoor reception in the mobile network of Regensburg, and the supply of households with fast mobile network in the Regensburg district has increased to 99 percent.
The mobile network sites in the Regensburg district support the emergency call technology Advanced Mobile Location (AML) and the warning system Cell Broadcast. Telekom's mobile network has been recognized as the best in Germany, with test victories in specialist magazines Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest.
In the next three years, 28 new mobile network sites are planned in the Regensburg district, and landlords can rent areas for new mobile network sites to Telekom with a long-term, location-based rent.
