Europe Kicks Off First Conference in Luxembourg

The Funds Europe Growth in European Asset Management Conference is set to return to Luxembourg on November 4, 2025, at Le Royal, Luxembourg. This half-day event promises insightful discussions on the drivers and challenges for growth in the European funds industry.

The conference will attract participants and attendees from Luxembourg's fund management and asset servicing industry, providing a platform for key industry figures to share their perspectives. Among the speakers are representatives from Quintet Private Bank, KPMG, M&G Investments, and Franklin Templeton.

Thomas Klein of Quintet Private Bank (Europe) and Chrystelle Veeckmans of KPMG's asset management practice in Luxembourg will discuss how proposed changes could boost investments in Europe and channel more household finance towards investment funds. The efficacy of Europe's funds industry relative to the US will also be scrutinized, with assessments of regulatory barriers and scalability issues.

Key topics for discussion include the proposals by Mario Draghi for a re-energised Capital Markets Union and the vision of Enrico Letta for a European savings & investment union. The role of AI in reshaping Luxembourg's funds industry will be discussed by a panel, featuring Borno Janekovic, the CEO of Omphalos Fund, an AI-driven fund manager based in Luxembourg, and Ulf Herbig, chairman of the EFAMA AI Task Force.

Micaela Forelli, the CEO of M&G Investments in Luxembourg, and Rafal Kwasny, conducting officer at Franklin Templeton's Luxembourg operation, are also participating. Private markets will also be a focus, with panels debating the future of ELTIFs in private equity, the expansion of the Eligible Assets Regime, and the potential for private market operations to match the efficiencies found in the Ucits regulatory regime.

Funds Europe has a long-standing relationship with Luxembourg, having held many roundtables in the city over the years, including one of their first FundsTech events.
