Zeekr 7X Electric SUV Gains Momentum in Australia

The Zeekr 7X electric SUV has made a strong debut in the Australian market, securing over 1,000 pre-orders within its first week of price announcement. With competitive pricing starting at $57,900 before on-road costs, the Zeekr 7X offers an appealing combination of affordability and premium features.

The Zeekr 7X is available in three variants: RWD, Long Range RWD, and Performance AWD, with prices ranging from $57,900 to $72,900. Notable features include fast charging capabilities, with up to 450 kW DC charging, enabling 10-80% charge in just 13 minutes.

The battery and range specifications vary across the variants. The RWD uses a 75 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, while the Long Range and Performance variants use 100 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries. The WLTP ranges are 480 km (RWD), 615 km (Long Range RWD), and 543 km (Performance AWD).

Performance-wise, the Performance AWD variant produces 475 kW and 710 Nm torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Other features include active air suspension with up to 45mm ride height adjustment and an off-road mode on the Performance AWD.

To attract early customers, Zeekr is offering extended benefits to the first 1,000 customers. This includes a seven-year vehicle warranty and roadside assist, a 7 kW home charger, Type 2 and portable charging cables, and no extra charges on paint or interior options. Complimentary color options are offered if pre-ordered by August 17, 2025, with extended benefits continuing until September 30, 2022.

Riz Akhtar, the founder of carloop, a company specializing in Australian EV data, insight reports, and trends, is one of the early adopters. As a mechanical engineer with a passion for EVs, Akhtar aims to reduce transport emissions in Australia. He currently drives a red Tesla Model 3.

First customer deliveries of the Zeekr 7X are expected to begin in October, with many receiving their cars before Christmas. With its fast charging capability, competitive range, and appealing introductory offers, the Zeekr 7X positions itself as a strong competitor in the Australian market, particularly against the Tesla Model Y.
