Multiple Years in Prison for Four Men for Drug Trafficking - Four Sentenced in Major Cocaine Trafficking Ring
Four men have been sentenced for their roles in an organized drug trafficking operation by the regional court in Hamburg. The group was responsible for moving 584 kilograms of cocaine from South America to Hamburg between October 2019 and March 2021.
The 25-year-old defendant played a key role, overseeing the removal and distribution of the food. He was sentenced to five years and three months in prison. A 24-year-old and a 42-year-old defendant assisted in retrieving the drug from containers on at least eight occasions. They received suspended youth sentences of two years each.
Assets totaling between 26,000 and 1.95 million euros were confiscated from the defendants. The 38-year-old defendant handled sales proceeds and distributed mobile phones for encrypted communication, receiving a three-year prison sentence.
The cocaine, a highly addictive drug, was shipped in refrigerated containers, with one container forwarded to England before the drug was retrieved. The court's decision sends a strong message against organized drug trafficking, with sentences ranging from suspended youth sentences to over five years in prison.
