Fundraising Reaches $150 Million for CARE Healthcare Foundation's Medical Model

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, Aidoc's CARE Healthcare Foundation Model is making waves as a clinical-grade AI platform designed to assist physicians in clinical decision-making and reduce diagnostic errors.

Securing a significant $150 million in funding in mid-2025, Aidoc aims to accelerate CARE's development and expansion, with a vision to transform care for 100 million patients within three years, up from the current support of over 45 million patients across 150+ health systems.

Trained on diverse clinical data, CARE powers FDA-cleared applications such as those detecting rib fractures and aortic dissection. This foundation model enables faster development of new diagnostic AI solutions—up to 20 times quicker—which is expected to broaden coverage to more diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular conditions.

The funding, led by General Catalyst and Square Peg, brings Aidoc's total to $370 million. With this substantial backing, Aidoc is strategically investing in partnerships with industry leaders like Nvidia and Amazon Web Services to bring CARE broadly to market and transition all its AI models onto this foundation, thereby compressing years of roadmap progress into a shorter time span.

Aidoc's future goals emphasize scaling CARE to improve outcomes by reducing diagnostic errors and supporting physicians with AI-enabled clinical decisions for every patient encounter. The company is also focusing on guiding healthcare organizations through change management and workflow adaptation to enable scalable AI adoption, aiming to make clinical AI as ubiquitous as general-purpose AI tools like ChatGPT.

In collaboration with Hartford HealthCare and WellSpan Health, Aidoc's work demonstrates the impact of AI on healthcare outcomes. Jeffrey A. Flaks, President and CEO of Hartford HealthCare, considers Aidoc an important partner in improving patient outcomes, while Roxanna Gapstur, President and CEO of WellSpan Health, believes foundation models will soon be as common in healthcare as ChatGPT is in general use.

The aiOS platform, Aidoc's enterprise platform for clinical AI, will be accelerated by this funding. Already supporting 69% of customers using non-Aidoc models, the platform will provide a robust infrastructure for the integration of CARE and other diagnostic AI solutions.

With the CARE model at the forefront of clinical AI innovation, Aidoc is poised to reduce diagnostic errors and improve patient outcomes on a large scale. In the next three years, CARE is expected to cover 90% of clinically relevant diseases, making it an invaluable tool in the healthcare industry.

Finance plays a crucial role in Aidoc's strategic plans for CARE, as securing a significant $150 million in funding in mid-2025 aims to fuel the acceleration and expansion of CARE's development.

Technology collaborations, such as with industry leaders like Nvidia and Amazon Web Services, are essential components of Aidoc's strategy for adopting and transitioning all its AI models onto the CARE foundation and broadening market access.
