Genesis Unveils First Extended-Range EV, GV70 EREV, in December 2026

Genesis is set to introduce its first extended-range electric vehicle (eREV), the GV70 EREV, to the global market in December 2026. The GV70 EREV aims to fill the gap between full EVs and traditional hybrids, offering an elegant design and advanced technology.

The GV70 EREV will compete in the premium segment against models like the BMW X5 xDrive50e and Volvo XC60 Recharge. It will initially launch in key markets such as North America, South Korea, and parts of Europe. An eREV primarily operates on electric power, with a small gasoline engine acting as a generator for extended range.

Genesis is confident that the GV70 EREV's elegant design and premium craftsmanship will set it apart from competitors like the BMW X5 xDrive45e, Volvo XC90 Recharge, Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 de, and Audi Q5 TFSI e.

The GV70 EREV's global debut in December 2026 marks Genesis' step towards its goal of becoming a fully electric brand by 2030. The eREV model is expected to attract customers seeking a premium, eco-friendly driving experience.
