The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation in Ghana has inaugurated a 10-member Entity Tender Committee (ETC) to oversee and manage the entity’s procurement processes. The committee, which is tasked with upholding transparency, fairness, and accountability in every procurement process, was inaugurated today at the Ministry's conference room.

The ETC's key functions include ensuring compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended, and providing strategic direction for the entity’s procurement activities. The committee is responsible for reviewing and approving annual procurement plans and their quarterly updates, confirming the acceptable range of costs for procurement items, and ensuring consistency with the Ministry's approved budget.

The ETC is chaired by Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP) and comprises a diverse group of members, including high-ranking officials from within the Ministry and representatives from external professional bodies. Mrs. Nora Akonnor serves as the committee's Secretary.

The committee is also responsible for facilitating contract administration, monitoring compliance with all procurement reporting requirements, and assisting the Head of the Entity in ensuring the proper disposal of stores, vehicles, and equipment in accordance with legal stipulations.

The committee's work is crucial in protecting public funds through effective oversight, ensuring strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act, and promoting public procurement standards within the Ministry.

The swearing-in of the committee was administered by Mrs. Marina Appiah Opare, Chief State Attorney from the Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice. The Entity Tender Committee is a new committee within the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation.

The Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), has been amended, and the ETC's role includes ensuring compliance with the updated law. The ETC is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities within the Ministry, including the Entity Tender Committee, which is responsible for the Ministry's procurement activities.
