H2O Innovation Expands Global Reach with Acquisition of Spanish Filter Specialist Lama
H2O Innovation has expanded its global reach with the acquisition of Lama Sistemas de Filtrados S.L. Unipersonal, a Spanish company specialising in backwashable filters. Both companies expressed excitement about the deal, which will broaden H2O Innovation's pretreatment options and reinforce its leadership in the desalination supply chain.
Founded in 2005, Lama brings to H2O Innovation a range of manual to fully automatic systems designed for municipal, industrial, and agricultural markets. These systems specialise in suspended solids removal, complementing H2O Innovation's Piedmont® brand, which focuses on reverse osmosis pretreatment.
The acquisition, H2O Innovation's 20th in 25 years, will allow the company to offer more comprehensive solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and engineering firms. Frédéric Dugré, President and CEO of H2O Innovation, praised Lama's expertise, stating it is a perfect addition to their components and consumables business. Jorge Lama, President of Lama, also expressed excitement about joining H2O Innovation and expanding market reach. All 40 Lama employees will remain with the company following the acquisition.
The acquisition of Lama Sistemas de Filtrados S.L. Unipersonal by H2O Innovation will strengthen the latter's global presence and pretreatment offerings. With Lama's expertise in backwashable filters and H2O Innovation's established reputation, the combined company is poised to provide more comprehensive solutions to its customers.
