Zhang Zhuo, head of sales for BYD's Ocean lineup, announced the sales success of the Sealion 06, with the SUV selling an impressive 4,801 units in its first week on the market.
Launched on July 24, the Sealion 06 is built on BYD's advanced e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture and is priced from approximately $19,300 to $22,700 (139,800 to 163,800 yuan) depending on the configuration. The AWD EV variant of the Sealion 06 utilizes a combined 388 hp powertrain.
Key Features and Specifications
The Sealion 06 boasts a smoothly refined exterior with split headlights, integrated air curtains on the front bumper, and a full-width light bar at the rear. Inside, the SUV is spacious, with a panoramic glass roof measuring 1.73 m², heated and ventilated front seats using an air-suction cooling method, and ample storage space. The rear trunk offers 757 liters of capacity, expanding to 1,630 liters with the rear seats folded. EV models also feature a front trunk (frunk) with 142 liters of capacity. Rear seat legroom and hip space measure 1,480 mm, emphasizing passenger comfort.
Powertrain Options
The Sealion 06 offers multiple powertrain options. The EV Single Motor variant comes with two options for 170 kW (228 hp) or 180 kW (241 hp) power output, while the EV Dual Motor variant boasts a combined 290 kW (388 hp) power output. The PHEV (DM-i) variant is powered by a 1.5L engine and single motor, with an engine output of 74 kW and a motor output of 160 kW.

The Sealion 06 utilizes BYD’s Blade Battery technology for safety and longevity. It supports 800V fast charging capability and offers two battery sizes: standard (65.28 kWh) and long-range (78.72 kWh).

The Sealion 06 is equipped with BYD's "God’s Eye" C version (DiPilot 100) intelligent driving system, featuring over 30 safety functions and seven airbags. It also offers highway navigation-assisted driving (NOA), with planned future updates to expand functionality. Additional features include Sentinel Mode, Remote View, NFC-based key access, and in-vehicle electronic toll collection (ETC). The SUV is also equipped with a high-coverage rear windshield wiper covering 87.3% of the glass. A premium sound system by Dynaudio is exclusive in this segment.
