In the United Arab Emirates, WhatsApp Groups have been released. Here's a breakdown of the vital details:
From WhatsApp to Your Finger Tips: Introducing WhatsApp Channels
Hold on tight! WhatsApp Channels are taking the digital world by storm, and they're now on the way to the UAE. It's your chance to stay connected with your idols, sports heroes, and creative minds in a more personalized manner, space, right within your WhatsApp.
Moon Baz, Creator Partnerships Lead at Meta, sheds some light on the latest sensation. "We're rolling out WhatsApp Channels globally, and it's a huge deal. Users can follow their favorite celebrities, sports teams, artists, creators, thought leaders – all within WhatsApp," beams Moon.
The One-Way Ticket to Stardom
WhatsApp Channels are like your personalized celebrity newsletter, where admins can send text, photos, videos, stickers, and even polls. With a simple click, you can find these channels in a new tab named 'Updates' on WhatsApp, where you'll discover the channels you choose to follow, separate from your chats.
Discover, Engage, Repeat
These channels will soon be available worldwide in the coming weeks and months, and any WhatsApp account holder can create their channel!
Note: Meta has stated that Channels are separate from chats, ensuring your privacy.
Users will be offered recommended Channels based on their region and popularity, much like the WhatsApp chat feature. Additionally, just like WhatsApp, you'll be able to use emojis to react to messages in a channel. Meta plans to keep adding features to Channels based on user feedback.
A Temporary Stopover
Although you'll have 30 days to revisit past Channel updates, they won't stick around eternally. Admins have the option to block screenshots and forwards from their channel, adding another layer of privacy for both parties.
Buckle Up for the Ride
Admins can decide who can follow their channel and whether it should appear in the directory or not. Some of the key features of WhatsApp Channels include:
- Enhanced Directory: Discover channels based on your country, with an easy-to-navigate list of new, most active, and popular channels based on follower count.
- Reactions: React to messages using emojis to give feedback. Unlike WhatsApp chat, your reactions remain private and won't be visible to others.
- Forwarding: Forwarding updates to chats or groups will include a link back to the channel, allowing people to find out more.
As WhatsApp onboards thousands of new partners, such as Olivia Rodrigo, Netflix, David Guetta, Billboard, MLB, and more, you can now follow them and be part of the WhatsApp Channels movement!
The Indian Cricket Team has also hopped on board the famous WhatsApp Channels wagon. With this, they aim to generate excitement, support, and provide up-to-date information for important matches and event details.
Actress Katrina Kaif also joined the craze, stating, "I can't wait to share my journey with everyone through this new venture with WhatsApp Channels. It's an incredible opportunity to engage with and share insights with my dedicated audience."
