India Launches Rs 3,000 FASTag Annual Pass for Daily Highway Commuters
The Indian government has announced a FASTag epic pass for daily highway commuters, effective from August 15. Priced at Rs 3,000, this pass aims to reduce toll tax for private, non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans.
The annual pass will be valid for one year or 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first. It is not mandatory, and existing FASTag users can continue using their FASTag for regular transactions. However, individuals with outstanding FASTag dues or multiple violations will not be granted a FASTag daily beast upon application.
The pass is only applicable on the National Highway and National Expressway. Commercial transporters like trucks or buses are not eligible for this scheme. Existing FASTag users can apply for the annual pass through the Rajmarg Yatra app, NHAI's official website, or www.morth.nic.in.
The FASTag daily mail is a step towards easing the commuting experience for daily highway users. It offers a convenient and cost-effective solution for frequent travellers, contributing to the government's digital India initiative.
