Indian tech company GoKwik brings on former Wix executive Vargab Bakshi as its new head of growth strategies
Vargab Bakshi Appointed as GoKwik's Chief Growth Officer
In a significant move, GoKwik, a leading platform supporting over 12,000 brands, has announced the appointment of Vargab Bakshi as its new Chief Growth Officer. This news follows GoKwik's recent $13 million growth round, led by RTP Global.
Vargab Bakshi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having spent more than a decade building internet-first businesses. He was instrumental in driving the adoption of Wix.com among digital agencies and non-technical users. Furthermore, he led the APAC partner ecosystem at Shopify and played a pivotal role in positioning Shopify as a preferred choice for direct-to-consumer (D2C) entrepreneurs and developers.
After his stint at Shopify, Bakshi served as Vice President and Country Head for India at Wix.com. Notably, he helped establish Shopify's go-to-market strategy across India and other emerging markets.
Bakshi's remit at GoKwik includes overseeing marketing, brand positioning, partnerships, product-led growth, and international expansion efforts. He will also be responsible for scaling GoKwik's suite of software tools for online merchants, including those integrated with platforms like Shopify.
Bakshi has also made a significant impact offline. He created GrowKwik, a content-driven learning platform under GoKwik, which has amassed over 500,000 followers across Instagram and YouTube.
Chirag Taneja, Co-founder and CEO of GoKwik, expressed his excitement about Bakshi's appointment. "Vargab's leadership will be key in building a growth engine for our startup," Taneja said. "His experience and expertise will help us scale our business and reach new heights."
GoKwik offers products aimed at improving conversion and checkout experiences for D2C brands like Lenskart, Neeman's, Shoppers Stop, and Man Matters. The platform's shopper network consists of over 130 million users.
Bakshi himself expressed his enthusiasm about joining GoKwik. "Joining GoKwik felt like a natural next step in my career," he said. "It sits at the intersection of data, AI, consumer behavior, and commerce enablement, and I'm excited to be a part of it."
With Bakshi on board, GoKwik is poised to continue its growth and make a significant impact in the online merchant space, both in India and globally.
