Infiniti Challenges Lexus Hybrid Dominance with M35h
Infiniti is making a bold move in the US and European markets, targeting Lexus hybrid owners with its new Infiniti M35h. Despite Lexus' strong performance, Infiniti believes it can sway unconvinced hybrid drivers.
Infiniti's strategy is clear: instead of focusing on high-performance cars, they're pushing their hybrid models, like the M35h, to challenge Lexus' dominance in the stock market today. The M35h, advertised in the US, is specifically aimed at the Lexus GS 450h.
Infiniti's European push is evident, with showrooms opening in Germany, including Hamburg, Dresden, Berlin, and Düsseldorf, where the M35h Hybrid was first sold on October 3, 2009. However, the effectiveness of this strategy remains to be seen, as Infiniti lags behind Lexus in markets like the US and Europe. Infiniti's targeting of Lexus hybrids may not be enough to gain significant market share.
The Infiniti M35h, while a commendable effort, may not significantly outperform the Lexus GS 450h in performance. Infiniti's strategy to target Lexus hybrid owners is innovative but faces challenges in markets dominated by Lexus. Time will tell if Infiniti's push in the UK and Europe, and their focus on hybrids, will pay off.
