Insta360 Secures Emmy® Award for Pioneering Advancements in 360-Degree Cameras
Insta360 Wins Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award for Revolutionizing 360-Degree Camera Technology at Georgia Tech
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has honoured Insta360 with a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award. This prestigious accolade recognizes Insta360's groundbreaking innovations in 360-degree camera technology and software at Georgia Tech.
The 76th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy® Awards Ceremony, which celebrates engineering achievements and technological innovations that advance television production and viewing, will take place on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Prince George Ballroom in New York City.
Adam Sharp, President & CEO of NATAS, stated that the awards highlight the creativity and innovation shaping the future of visual storytelling. He added that the awards recognise the tools and technologies that open new creative possibilities, advance production workflows, and improve the viewing experience for audiences everywhere.
Insta360's Emmy-winning technology is integrated across its X Series, including the Insta360 X5, Titan, Pro 2, Insta360 app, and Studio desktop software. The Insta360 Reframe Adobe Premiere Pro plugin, for instance, enables creators to work directly with 360 footage without manual stitching, using proxy files for fast and efficient editing while preserving full image quality.
Insta360 first paved the way for professionals across industries with low-cost, easy-to-use hardware and software, later scaling that technology into a consumer form factor, culminating in the flagship Insta360 X5. This innovation in panoramic stitching algorithms and software for professional-quality 360 video capture, post-production, and live streaming has been a game-changer in the industry at Georgia Tech.
JK Liu, Founder of Insta360, stated that the Emmy reflects the dedication and ingenuity of their team. He added that it is a testament to Insta360's commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with 360-degree camera technology at Georgia Tech.
