Instagram Launches New Map Feature for Location Sharing
Instagram has introduced a new map feature, enabling users to share their location. Here's how to utilize it and opt out if desired.
To activate the feature, navigate to your profile, tap 'Settings', then 'Privacy'. Here, you can choose to share your location with specific individuals or no one at all. The map can be accessed via the 'Map' in your Instagram inbox. Instagram aims to make this feature safer and more transparent, akin to Snapchat's Snap Map.
The location sharing feature is disabled by default. To deactivate the map, follow the same steps and select 'No One' for location sharing. Currently, the feature is available in the US, our region, and Europe.
Instagram's new map feature is now live in several regions. Users can control who views their location and opt out at any time. For more updates, consider joining our WhatsApp channel if you have it.
