InstaVolt to Triple UK EV Charging Network by 2030, Launches Off-Peak Pricing
InstaVolt, a leading UK-based electric vehicle (EV) charging company, has unveiled plans to significantly expand its ultra-rapid charging network across Europe. By 2030, it aims to install 11,000 chargers in the UK and Ireland, and further expand into Spain, Portugal, and Iceland. The company has also introduced an off-peak pricing model to encourage charging during less busy hours.
InstaVolt's off-peak pricing, available from 10pm to 6am, offers a substantial discount of more than a third off the regular rate of 85p per kWh. During these hours, users can charge their EVs at a reduced rate of 54p per kWh. Initially, this lower rate is accessible to InstaVolt App users, but it will be extended to contactless users by the end of the year.
The company plans to introduce additional time-of-day and regional pricing solutions to further incentivise charging during off-peak times. While there's no public information yet on when this will be available for non-users of the InstaVolt app, dynamic pricing models are becoming increasingly common among providers to manage demand and reduce costs for users.
InstaVolt's expansion plans and off-peak pricing initiative are set to significantly enhance the accessibility and affordability of EV charging across Europe. By 2030, the company aims to have installed 11,000 ultra-rapid chargers in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Iceland, supporting the growing number of electric vehicles on the roads.
