Introduced Color for iPhone 17 Might Mark a First for Apple

In a move that could shake up the smartphone market, Apple is reportedly planning a significant design overhaul for its upcoming iPhone 17, with a lineup of vibrant new colours set to make a splash.

According to recent leaks and reports, the iPhone 17 is expected to break from Apple's tradition of single hues, introducing a range of fresh shades. The base model is rumoured to include Green, Purple, Light Blue, and Steel Gray, while the Pro version is said to feature an all-new Orange hue, along with Dark Blue, White, and Gray options.

Interestingly, these colours are expected to exhibit dynamic visual effects influenced by light, much like Apple's finish technology. This means the shades may subtly shift or reflect light differently when viewed in different illuminations, enhancing their visual appeal in varying conditions.

The new colour palette is said to complement the Liquid Glass design language of iOS 26, a sleek and modern aesthetic that is anticipated to characterise the iPhone 17.

In addition to the colour overhaul, the iPhone 17 is rumoured to feature a holographic, iridescent, or shiny design, marking a radical departure for Apple. The Pro model is also expected to boast a radically different camera array.

A new model, the iPhone 17 Air, is also expected to be introduced, further expanding Apple's iPhone lineup. However, it seems that the much-anticipated hot pink colour may not be making an appearance this time around.

The leaked information was shared by a well-regarded Apple leaker via Weibo, although it's important to note that these details have not been officially confirmed by Apple.

Apple is reportedly keen to take its 'Think Different' mantra to heart with the iPhone 17, signalling a shift towards bolder, more innovative designs. Whether these changes will be enough to make the iPhone exciting again remains uncertain, but one thing is for sure: the iPhone 17 is shaping up to be a device that will turn heads when it launches officially in September 2025.
