HarbourView Leads $85 Million Funding Round in AI-Driven Kids' Entertainment Company, Animaj

Animaj, a London- and Paris-based digital-first kids and family entertainment media company, is revolutionizing the children's entertainment industry by combining AI-powered production with platform-native content development. The company recently secured $85 million in funding, led by HarbourView Equity Partners, to expand its global content reach and enhance AI-driven production capabilities.

Founded by Grégory Dray, a former Google and YouTube executive, and Sixte de Vauplane, Animaj focuses on creating fast, scalable, and high-quality children’s content using a hybrid model that blends AI tools with platform-native storytelling. This approach targets digital-first, younger audiences by delivering serialized content at scale and speed, drawing an audience of 240 million monthly viewers and generating 22 billion annual views across platforms like YouTube.

The funding round also includes contributions from France's Bpifrance and existing investors such as Left Lane Capital, Daphni, and X-Ange. Arduina Partners, impressed by Animaj's unique AI × IP model, also expressed their amazement.

Sherrese Clarke, founder and CEO of HarbourView, commented that Animaj is poised to become a category-defining leader in the kids' entertainment industry. This investment supports HarbourView's expanding media and IP portfolio.

Animaj's proprietary AI production system and data-driven insights enable the creation of content across digital platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, Roblox, Spotify, and FAST channels. The company's recent acquisition of global rights to the animated property Pocoyo demonstrates its commitment to revitalizing under-utilized IP globally.

The funds from the funding round will be used to scale Animaj's AI-powered "flywheel" model and further develop multi-format franchises from kids’ intellectual properties. Sixte de Vauplane, co-founder and CEO of Animaj, described the company as a data-driven, AI-powered, digital-first but multiplatform media company.

This is not the first investment by HarbourView Equity Partners in the media and IP sector. The company, specialized in equity financing, has shown its commitment to supporting innovative companies at the intersection of technology and entertainment. Animaj was also selected for the 2025 Disney Accelerator program, reflecting its role as an industry leader and its innovative approach.
