Irish Exporters Bullish on Growth at Enterprise Ireland's IMW

Enterprise Ireland's International Markets Week (IMW) is underway in Dublin, with over 700 Irish companies set to meet with 140 Enterprise Ireland market advisors in 2,000 one-to-one meetings. The event, held at the RDS from 23-27 January, aims to support Irish companies' international market expansion efforts. Meanwhile, Irish exporters remain optimistic about future growth, despite facing challenges such as global uncertainty and rising business costs.

The optimism is reflected in the export sales predictions for 2023. Two-thirds of companies expect an increase, with 93% of exporters predicting growth by 2026. The euro zone is the top target region for expansion, followed by the UK and the US. Notably, 97% of Enterprise Ireland's client companies plan to enter new markets within the next year.

Companies are also investing in technology to boost competitiveness. Ninety-eight percent are taking steps to improve overall competitiveness, while 87% are integrating or planning to integrate AI into their operations. However, the top three challenges for Irish exporters in the next 12 months remain global uncertainty, the cost of doing business, and staffing and retention.

The International Markets Week in Dublin provides a platform for Irish companies to engage with Enterprise Ireland's global network. With strong export growth expectations and a focus on technological advancements, Irish companies are positioning themselves for international success. Despite challenges, they remain committed to expanding into new markets in the coming year.
