Jafza & Haldiram's Launch State-of-the-Art Saffron Plant in GCC
Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and Haldiram's have joined forces to establish a state-of-the-art saffron processing facility in the GCC. The plant, set to commence operations in March 2025, will be managed by Kesar Expert & Packers, a seasoned saffron processor with over two decades of experience in India. The facility aims to secure European BRCGS certification, ensuring high-quality saffron production.
The initial processing capacity of the plant will be 30 metric tonnes of saffron, with ambitious plans to scale up to 100 metric tonnes over the next five years. This expansion will be supported by the UAE-India CEPA and Jafza's robust infrastructure.
The partnership between Jafza and Haldiram's may pave the way for future collaborations. These could include expanding Haldiram's presence in Dubai and further investments in food processing. Kesar Expert & Packers, the appointed manager of the saffron processing unit, brings its expertise to ensure smooth operations starting in 2025.
Dubai's growing prominence as a global trade hub, particularly in the food and beverage sector, is evident. Jafza alone hosts over 770 F&B companies, making it an ideal location for this strategic venture.
