Jaguar Land Rover Restarts UK Electric Vehicle Production on October 8
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is gradually restarting its manufacturing operations, with the Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) and Battery Assembly Centre (BAC) in the UK resuming work on October 8, 2025. The company has secured a UK Government-backed loan to support suppliers during this phase.
The restart will happen in phases, with vehicle production in Nitra, Slovakia, and the Land Rover and Land Rover Sport lines in Solihull, UK, resuming later in the week. JLR workers will return to stamping operations in Castle Bromwich, Halewood, and Solihull, as well as other key areas of the Solihull vehicle production plant.
To aid suppliers, JLR will reimburse financing costs and provide qualifying suppliers with a majority prepayment shortly after the point of order, accelerating payments by up to 120 days. This is in addition to the dedicated supplier help desk and manual payment system introduced since the cyber incident. The company has not specified the bank working with them on this new financing program, but it is supported by the British government.
Adrian Mardell, CEO of JLR, expressed gratitude to all connected to the company for their commitment during the recovery process. The phased restart of manufacturing operations is expected to stabilize the supply chain and support the company's return to full production.
