Kaspersky's New Feature Blocks Phishing Links in Android Notifications
Kaspersky has bolstered its Android security with a new feature, Notification Protection. This tool, designed to safeguard users from phishing attempts via mobile notifications, is now available for users to enable. Marina Titova, Kaspersky's Vice President of Consumer Business, has highlighted the importance of this feature in eliminating the risk of malicious links in notifications.
To activate Notification Protection, users need to turn on 'Check Notifications' in the Kaspersky for Android menu and grant access to notifications and enable accessibility. This feature works even when the screen is off or in 'Do Not Disturb' mode, ensuring continuous protection.
Kaspersky's anti-phishing protection is powered by OCR and a patented machine learning model, which helps it identify and remove scam and suspicious links in mobile notifications. Since its introduction, over 166,000 users have activated the feature, demonstrating its efficiency in every case. In the first half of 2025 alone, Kaspersky's anti-phishing protection features blocked over 2 million phishing or scam link attempts on Android devices worldwide.
The Notification Protection feature is a significant addition to Kaspersky's multilayer phishing detection, which includes safe browsing and safe messaging. By activating this feature, users can safeguard every aspect of their digital life, staying protected from highly personalized phishing attempts via messaging apps.
