Kazakhstan's AI Talent Shines at IOAI 2023, President Tokayev Visits Alem.AI Center
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Alem.AI international center on October 2, 2025, where he was greeted by young Kazakhstani researchers and developers presenting their innovative AI projects. These local talents showcased their work alongside peers from over 60 countries at the IOAI 2023 event, where Kazakhstan ranked impressively high in unofficial medal standings.
The IOAI 2023 event saw over 280 young researchers and developers gather, with Kazakhstani participants making a significant impact. Their team won a total of 7 medals, including 3 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze, placing Kazakhstan 4th in the world, ahead of countries like China and the United States. Among the notable AI projects presented to the president were those from startups like Mirai Tech, AltBridge, and Defect AI. Mirai Tech showcased a portable AI biomechanics lab, AltBridge demonstrated an investment portfolio monitoring system, and Defect AI presented a medical documentation assistant, highlighting the diversity and potential of Kazakhstani AI innovations.
The president's visit to the Alem.AI international center served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of Kazakhstani young researchers and developers in the AI field.
